For Our Local Visitors

Driving Directions:

  1. Whether driving from the North or South on Highway 101, leave the freeway at Exit #650.
  2. If exiting Southbound, when at the base of the ramp turn left and go under the freeway, then turn right and cross the Eel River bridge.
  3. If exiting Northbound when at the base of the ramp turn right and cross the Eel River bridge.
    Proceed 0.25 miles until the road T’s at the Avenue of the Giants.
  4. Turn left onto the Avenue of the Giants and proceed 1.5 Miles into Miranda, CA
  5. Look for our “Miranda Gardens” sign on the Left.

Nearby Airports:

  • Arcata-Eureka Airport (ACV): Located about 60 miles north of Miranda, it’s the closest commercial airport offering flights from major cities. Car rental services are available at the airport.

  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO): For our guests coming from further away, SFO offers a wide range of domestic and international flights. It is approximately 250 miles south of Miranda. Car rentals, as well as bus services, are available to make your way to us.

Transportation from the Airport:

  • Car Rentals: We recommend renting a car for the most flexible and scenic experience traveling through Humboldt County to Miranda Gardens. All major airports have a variety of rental services.

  • Shuttle Services: Check for local shuttle services from Arcata-Eureka Airport to Humboldt County. Some hotels and resorts offer their shuttle services, so it’s worth inquiring as you book your stay with us.

  • Public Transportation: While the public transportation options are limited in our rural area, there are regional bus services that run from major cities and airports to Humboldt County. Please check the latest schedules and routes to plan your journey.

Tips for Your Journey

  • Scenic Route: If you’re driving, we recommend taking the Avenue of the Giants for a portion of your journey. This 31-mile stretch is an alternative to US-101 and winds through the magnificent coastal redwoods.

  • Travel Time: Please allow extra travel time, especially if you’re driving through scenic routes or during peak travel seasons.

  • Stay Connected: While we encourage disconnecting and immersing yourself in nature, we recommend keeping a mobile phone charged and handy for navigation and in case of emergencies.
